Saturday 11/15 Food Journal

Lunch (no breakfast due to sleeping in until 11 a.m.)
Salmon “steak” (you know, the kind in the foil pack that tastes more like dried out tuna)
Brown rice with a splash of lite soy sauce
Edamame (about 1/4 cup of what was left over)
Hot tea w/splash of lemon juice, sweetened with Splenda

It has been cold, cold, cold here all day, so I’ve pretty much been drinking hot tea with lemon most of the afternoon (just went in and fixed my third large mug of it, in fact). While waiting on the water to heat and then the tea to steep two hours ago, I went ahead and swept and Swiffer Wet-Jetted the bathroom, living room, and kitchen. (BTW, I’m not overly impressed with the Wet-Jet . . . because even though it’s pretty good at getting up spots and stuff from the floor and is much easier to use than a regular mop, I still have to go back with a damp paper towel after and wipe up the dirt-lines it leaves behind).

Snack (around 4:30 p.m.)
Tub of unsweetened apple sauce
3rd mug of hot tea
Popcorn (94% fat free)

Dinner (around 8 p.m.)
Pork chop—marinated in a “brine” of water, salt, pinch of Splenda brown sugar, sage, thyme, rosemary, red pepper flakes, and black pepper. Pan seared. (Turned out WONDERFUL–very juicy and tasty!)
Broccoli and cauliflower, steamed with fat-free American and Swiss cheese melted over it
