As you can guess by the fact that I haven’t posted food journals most of the week, I felt like I was having a pretty rough week—busy and I ate out about 70% of my meals this week. But I did try to be “good” whenever I ate out, ordering a salad or grilled salmon with steamed veggies.
Well, my “goodness” paid off . . . I was down 1.6 lbs this week! And that was with falling off the wagon and binging on sweets a couple of times. That puts me at a total of 44 pounds (24 at WW) lost. Which means I’m still 1 pound away from that elusive 25 pound mark at WW, and 5 pounds away from my 10%.
Here’s my plan for traveling tomorrow so that I don’t blow my good progress on fast food:
1. Breakfast—I’m going to make another one of those ham-and-cheese fritattas tonight, but just one serving, so that all I have to do is pop it in the microwave for a minute in the morning.
2. In-the-Car Snack—I’m also going to pop a bag of 94% fat-free popcorn tonight and put it in a zipper bag to have to munch on in the car. I bought two honeycrisp apples at Kroger Friday so I’m taking both of those as well.
3. Lunch—I’m going to stop at McDonald’s and get the grilled chicken sandwich, no mayo. Then, I’ll take the meat off the bread, discard the bread, and have the chicken, along with my last pack of WW Sourdough Crisps (2 points) and one of the apples. That way, I’ll still have had something hot to eat (more satisfying for me), but I’ll have stayed on program.
4. At Mom and Dad’s House—I’m taking my program information, including my food list that I’ve made, with me. Tuesday, I’ll head over to the grocery store and pick up a few items I know Mom won’t have in her fridge (like the fat-free cheeses and other things that they don’t eat) so that I’m never eating anything off plan just because it’s the “only thing available.”
My goal for the eight or nine days I’ll be in Arkansas is to maintain my current weight and not gain anything. I’d love to lose weight—at least the 1 pound to get my 25 pound award—but I’m not counting on that, just so that I won’t be disappointed enough to lapse/binge when I get back and weigh at my regular meeting on January 4.
I’ve been saying I’m going to find a meeting in Hot Springs so that I can weigh-in at the beginning of the week next week, but the only meeting in HS on Monday is at 6 p.m., and we’re planning to go out to dinner that evening, so I’ll have to wait until I get back and weigh on either Wednesday or Thursday of next week (depending on whether I drive back on Tuesday or Wednesday).
I will try to post my food journals while I’m gone—heaven knows, I’ll need the accountability instead of slipping into the “I’m on vacation” mindset that set me back over Thanksgiving. But just in case I don’t, I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah, and Blessed Kwanza.
